Assisted Living & Memory Care
Spanish Cove is a non-profit public-trust continuing-care retirement community in Yukon (Oklahoma City metro), operating for approximately 50 years and describing itself as "More Than a Retirement Community -- a Family." It positions itself as "the most experienced Continuing Care Retirement Community in the OKC Metro Area," offering independent living, assisted living, memory care, and skilled nursing so residents can age in place. Assisted living provides "a caring, trained professional" who helps residents maintain independence while participating "in activities, events, social and educational programs," and the community recently completed new assisted living suites. A licensed home health agency is on site, and each residence has 24-hour emergency response.
Daily life is rich with amenities: full dining facilities with a private dining room, three full-service beauty salons offering hair, nail, and spa services, billiards and game rooms, a 5,000-plus volume library and video library, an art studio, a woodworking shop, a sewing and quilting room, a pet park, and a rooftop garden. Housekeeping and flat-linen services, three-times-weekly trash collection, full-time maintenance, and on-site laundry facilities support carefree living, and scheduled transportation covers medical and dental appointments, local shopping, and planned trips. The community also offers Spanish Cove At Home Hospice with physician-directed care, nursing case management, aides, social workers, chaplains, and volunteers.

Oklahoma inspects every assisted living and memory care community on a regular schedule, plus any time a complaint comes in. Inspectors are state employees, not part of this site — what follows is what they found, in their own words.
Built by Paul Swales, a senior placement advisor, from Oklahoma State Department of Health inspection records — not from reviews. Assisted living and memory care have no federal star rating.
2 inspections in the last two years · 2 with no deficiencies cited
Both Oklahoma State Department of Health inspections of Spanish Cove in the last two years ended with no deficiencies cited — the three-day relicensure survey in October 2025 and a complaint investigation in October 2024. That complaint alleged kitchen staff were not properly licensed or certified; the surveyor arrived unannounced, reviewed the dietician's license, employee records and the community's policies, interviewed staff, and no citation resulted. Nothing in the state's records from this period shows a cited problem.
Summarized from Oklahoma State Department of Health survey documents. Inspections are a snapshot of specific days and sample a small number of residents.
Every inspection Oklahoma has on record for this community. The rating is based on the last 2 years, so a community is not scored on something it corrected long ago — but the older record is here to read either way.

My help finding the right community costs your family nothing.
You never pay me — the community pays my fee, and only if someone I introduce moves in. And one person calls you back: me, not a call center.

I’m Paul Swales, and this is what I do all day. A senior placement advisor is the person who finds the right community for your family and does the hard part for you. I’ve read the state health department’s inspection record on every community in this metro. I know which ones will genuinely take your loved one’s level of care, and I make the calls — so you’re not doing this alone at eleven at night on your phone.
It works like a buyer’s agent in real estate. Your family never pays me. The community pays my fee, and only if someone I introduce actually moves in. There’s no cost to your family and no obligation to keep using me.
The one catch is the order. They only pay my fee if I introduce you before you contact them yourself. Call them first and you’re a walk-in — I can’t step in as your advocate after that. It costs your family nothing either way. It only decides whether you have someone on your side.
Oklahoma Senior Placement can get you current availability, the real monthly price, and a tour at Spanish Cove Housing Authority — at no cost to your family.
